Nolan's Picnic in the Pantry

Nolan has been very independent lately~ he doesn't want help with anything and he'd rather be by himself to play in his own space. While it has been nice not having to focus 24/7 on him, he has developed a rather bad habit of hiding when he's not being watched. First it was under Brennan's bed, then the guest bathroom, then the laundry room. His current favorite hiding place is the pantry.


One day last week, Nolan went into the pantry to get a coke (yes, it's still continuing). Instead of getting a coke to drink, Nolan got a Gatorade, which wasn't exactly what he wanted, so I offered him a cookie too. He took the drink and the cookie and put them on the stool in the pantry. After checking to make sure he was happy, I went to get Ian. About 5 minutes passed, when I noticed that it was really, really quiet. As any mother knows, silence=trouble. When I went to check on Nolan, he was sitting in the pantry with the door closed. I grabbed my camera because I thought it was cute that he was having his own picnic in the pantry. Apparently, he didn't want me there and shut the door in my face!
