Baby's First Picture

Today I had my first ultrasound for the new baby. I know it's later in the pregnancy than it should be, but between moving and vacations, I really didn't have a chance to see anyone else. The baby looks great, but the technician wouldn't tell me the gender because I am only 15 weeks along. Sad huh? I really wanted to know! Anyway, the story isn't in the ultrasound because it was very typical. The story is in what happened before the ultrasound.

We arrived at the Baptist Medical Center about 15 minutes early, got checked in and sat down in the waiting room. We had been there maybe 5 minutes when the Fire Alarm goes off. As sad as it is to say, we all just sat there. We figured that maybe someone had burned something in the microwave or something silly. Shortly thereafter though, the PA system gave us the announcement that "There is a code red on floor 6. Repeat, Code Red on floor 6. We need everyone to evacuate the building." This would have been fine and dandy if I hadn't had Brennan and Nolan with me. As we proceeded to the elevators, they waved us to the stairs. It was too funny to see me carrying Nolan in his stroller down the stairs while yelling for Brennan to stop and wait. Brennan was scared to death that the building was going to fall down on us. When we got outside, we saw the fire trucks rush to the building. After 10-15 minutes we were allowed to go back into the building. The only thing was that Brennan REFUSED to get on the elevator. He kept saying that it was on fire and we would die if we got on, so we walked to the staircase, but the door was locked. It took about 5 minutes to convince him that it was okay to get on them. Oh, the drama for a few pictures of my baby!

Yeah for a "baby" picture. My guess is a girl. Only 5 more weeks to find out. Just for fun, why don't you go buy a few "boy things" this time so that you can end up with a girl instead!
