This also seems to be a stage for the entire family. Brennan is so close to becoming a very mature 6 yr old, but still is struggling with his crying. He's almost done with kindergarten. Can you believe that I have a 1st grader? Am I really that old? Brennan is becoming such a smart cookie too! His reading skills are just taking off- He's read many a books to me without struggling through the words. His art skills are getting great too. Recently, he entered a coloring contest for the local Webkinz dealer and won 1st place. When we went in to claim his prize (a pack of webkinz cards, candy and mouse pad), I was amazed to see the other pictures in his age group. Brennan's looked like it should have been in the next group up. He was very, very proud of his ability to color. As much as I would love to have a musician, I think that Brennan is more drawn to art- that's okay, I've got Nolan to teach music to! Another thing Brennan is in to is riding his bike. He's SO close to mastering it without his training wheels-maybe another week of practice will help him. Here he is with his full protective gear on his crazy X-bike.
Nolan is also in between stages- he's pulling himself up on furniture and walking along the edge. He's even let go and maintained balance for a few seconds. He just doesn't seem interested in walking when he crawls at lightening speed. We recently got his pictures taken. They turned out so well! The only problem was that he would let her take the picture and when everyone would look at the monitor to see how it looked, Nolan would take off after the camera and we would have to start over with the posing- it seemed to take forever, but I think that they were worth the time. Here is the link to view Nolan's 10 month pictures-

Since it's been a while since I've posted about Don or myself, we have some interesting information for you. No, I'm not pregnant! Don and I have been working on losing weight with weight watchers. We have been doing it for a month and I've lost 11 lbs. and 5 inches off my waist (I'm almost back into my pre-pregnancy pants) and Don has lost 15 lbs and can fit into the pants he wore when we started dating. If you could have seen his face last night when he put them on- pure joy! I'm very proud of both of us, especially Don because of his crazy work schedule. He's been eating right (no more Cheesecake factory every night) and has been working out before and after work.
One last thing to add- another crazy conversation with Brennan:
Brennan: Mom, Koala's are Panda's.
Me: No, Koala's are gray and Panda's are black and white.
Brennan: But they both live in trees and other Bear's don't.
Me: True, but Koala's carry their babies in the tummy and Panda's don't.
Brennan: (Picture the wheels in his head turning) But if Panda's don't carry their babies in their tummy, where else to they carry them?
Me: Huh?
Brennan: You carried Nolan in your tummy, Koala's carry theirs in their tummy, so where do Panda's carry them?
Me: What?.....(long pause to figure out what he's talking about)... oh, when they're pregnant!! I was talking about after they had their babies- I carry Nolan in my arms and Panda's carry theirs on their back, but Koala's have a pouch to carry theirs in- like a Kangaroo. (then I tucked in my shirt and pulled out my pants to make a pouch) Like this-
Brennan: Oh, like this (he does the same and puts his Panda webkinz in his pouch and continues to play)
It was priceless!

Can I just tell you how proud I am of you and Don losing weight! I just wish that Jake would jump on board too. Its so crazy to believe that 11 lbs can be 5 inches on your waist and yet when I look at Nathan and think I've lost 1 and 1/3 of you? Wow - what a huge difference it is.
I really hope you move to California for a while, (I miss not seeing you very often). Let us know what the plans are!
