New Technology = Less Technolgy

For our 2nd anniversary on May 12th, we purchased a new computer to run some software that Don purchased (interesting we bought the software first and found a computer to run it!). Anyway, Don also got his Father's Day/Birthday present, a video IPod, early so he could enjoy using it while he's flying back and forth across the county. Saturday was spent installing and burning movie onto our new computer. He took our old Itunes and moved them, along with other programs. He did leave it so that the Internet could still be used by Brennan, so I thought "Hey, I'll post some movies/pictures on my blog this week.).

Silly me!!! What could I have possibly been thinking!?!? I don't know what happened, but there is no sound on our old computer and I can't figure out how to move our files off of our video camera to the new computer- Blame it on Don that you can't see Nolan's cool new trick! Climbing stairs!

I was sitting at the computer, trying to figure out the sound issue (because I wanted to update my IPod) when I turned around and saw Nolan standing - which is, in itself, amazing. He just started that yesterday and was very, very wobbly. The next thing I knew, Nolan was pushing himself up the stairs, so I grabbed the camera and let her roll. The video I wanted to post shows him going up a couple of stairs and falling down without bonking his head. It was very funny- I'm sorry you don't get to see it. Once again, blame Don.

On another silly note- Here's Brennan's latest insight into the world of adults:

(Preface: We were watching Law and Order and someone got hit and killed by a drunk driver).

Brennan: What happened? Why would they hit someone's car?
Me: They were being stupid. They were drinking and driving.
Brennan: What? They were drinking and driving!? Mom, you do that all the time- you'd better stop being stupid or you're going to kill someone!!

I then spent 15 min. explaining the difference between drinking water and drinking alcohol. The questions this child asks!

ACTUALLY, if you think about it you do drink and drive alot. I'm not sure if Brennan is going to understand at his age the difference. I'm thinking I shouldn't be letting Elisabeth stay up and watch Law and Order with us anymore. For example on Tuesday we watched the new SVU. At the end the people fell off of the top of the building onto a car. Ellie saw it and she's like... "Why did they want to get hurt on the car?" It made me realize from a child's perspective that maybe just maybe we shouldn't really be watching those kinds of things.

By the way... tell Don I want to see my nephew climing up the stairs. I have special aunt priveledges and I want to see him climb! I wish that you lived closer so that we could spend more time with you and see all of these day to day things that we got to see when Brennan was that age!
