Brennan is so much like me it's scary!

Mother's Day came a little early this year- Don didn't know what to get me, so while our house was having a showing, we went shopping for new and wonderful toys!! Knowing me, toys involve some sort of scrapbook/photo object and I found exactly what I was looking for. I got a new photo printer and Photo shop! I'm so excited- I pulled it out of the box (even though I wasn't supposed to). I just wanted to show you my first picture- (I'm SO proud).


I'm so happy that I could actually make a half decent picture from two that were okay. Now I can actually scrapbook some holidays!

Nolan's Crawling!

Nolan started crawling about a week ago. At first, it was slow going, but that only lasted about a day. He has rapidly become a disappearing crawler... crawling out of the room, under the side tables and into closets! His favorite thing to do is pull everything out of it's place- DVDs off the book shelf, scrapbook things from my scrapbook room, mittens and scarves from the bin- if he can get hold of it, it's going to end up on the floor. And he doesn't sit around and play with them. Once they are spread out, he squeals for joy, I come running, and he takes off to go find something else to take out, leaving me with the mess. I've now given up on picking up after him during the day and just pick things up at night. He are a couple of videos to show you what I mean!

I have so many things that I want to post!!! I've started a couple of blogs (about Disneyland and Heidi's visit) but I'm not quite finished. I promised my mom-in-law that I would get some movies of Nolan crawling and clapping. I think Nolan is getting to big for his britches! The crawling video didn't want to load- but I'll keep trying!

Nolan's 8 month pictures

I know you must think that I'm crazy for getting Nolan's picture taken every month- but I love seeing the changes. As I look at his pictures, I can see how much he's grown in the past month. He is getting so big! The pictures aren't quite as good as the last few because we couldn't get him to stop moving unless we put him in something (I'm telling you this kid loves to move).

Nolan's Sitting Up!

Nolan has a new talent- he can sit himself up!

At first, I couldn't believe it. I was making dinner and letting him roll around on the living room floor. When I went to check on him a couple of minutes later, he was sitting up playing with his toys. I couldn't remember if I'd left him that way or not, so I didn't think much of it. A few moments later, he did it again. I couldn't believe it! Nolan is getting so big- He rolls everywhere, can scoot/crawl backwards, and now sits up on his own! Here is a movie so you can see just how big he is.

More Wit and Wisdom

I've decided that Brennan continues to amaze me with his logic. As we were driving to his friends house yesterday we has the following discussion.

Brennan: Mom, how do you know Tammy?
Me: We went to the same school, like you and Gabe (the friend we were going to).
Brennan: Why are you friends?
Me: I don't know.... why are you and Gabe friends?
Brennan: Because I SOOOOOOO like him!
Me: Well, I guess Tammy and I are friends because I SOOO like her!

To all my friends (and family too!!) remember we are friends because I SOOO like you!!!

Adoption Day!

It's Official! Brennan is now Brennan Alma Borchert.

Brennan's adoption papers were signed yesterday (3/3/08). We went to court to testify about all of the issues we were concerned about and since Mr. Larsen didn't show up, they found him in default and terminated his rights. We are so happy- Don even cried! Brennan thought that we were crazy for being so emotional over a name change. There will have to be a discussion in the future about this issue, but that is best saved for when he's older and can understand better. Things couldn't have gone better- The judge even commented that Brennan was such a lucky child and that this was one of the days that he liked to see in court (everyone was happy with the outcome).
